System administrators can grant time entry permissions to:
- Direct managers (for their direct reports)
- Project managers (for project team members)
- Team leaders (for team members)
- Department managers (for department members)
If you hold multiple roles within the system, your permissions may combine to provide broader access across different employee groups.
Where to add time entries
The primary location for entering time data is: Time Tracking > My Team
This interface offers two methods for adding time entries:
Method 1: Adding Individual Time Entries
You can add individual entries using either approach:
Quick table entry
Hover over the relevant field in the table view and click the + button
Form-based entry
- Click + Add Entry for Employee
- Select Add Single Entry
Entry configuration options
When creating individual entries, you can specify:
- Duration: Hours as a number or time range
- Project assignment
- Associated task
- Activity description (optional field: “What did you work on?”)
Method 2: Adding Bulk Time Entries
To add multiple entries simultaneously:
- Click + Add Entry for Employee
- Select Add Time in Bulk
Bulk entry capabilities
This functionality enables efficient completion of time records for entire months using:
- Time ranges or fixed hour amounts
- Schedule-based automatic population (based on employee’s assigned shift pattern)

Multi-role access considerations
If you hold multiple system roles (for example, both line manager and project manager), the Time Tracking > My Team view displays all relevant employees:
- Your direct reports
- Project team members you manage
Permission limitations may apply: System administrators may grant you time entry permissions for only specific role contexts. For instance, you might be able to add entries for direct reports but not for project team members, even though both groups appear in your view.
The system enforces these permissions automatically, limiting data entry access according to configured settings.
Adding entries via time tracking reports
Administrators may also grant line managers access to Time Tracking > Reports. This section provides consolidated views of time entries across all your direct reports.
If you have both:
- Time entry permissions for direct reports
- Access to the reports section
Then individual and bulk entry functions are available within the reports interface as well, providing an alternative workflow for time entry management.
