In an onboarding path, you can set the step type: tasks.
With this step, you can automate the delegation of tasks to a new employee or the employees supporting the onboarding of a new employee and the preparation of their place of work.
What are tasks and what function they serve in the onboarding process
- The “Tasks” step is where you can define one or more specific tasks and assign them to user roles.
- The “Tasks” step has to include at least one defined task.
Otherwise, it will not appear as a step in the onboarding path. - In this step, you define “templates” based on which actual tasks will be created to be assigned to tomHRM users. See the Creating and assigning tasks section below.
- The deadline of a given task is not a specific date. Instead, a rule is set to be applied to calculating/setting the deadline: {X} days {before date / after date} of {employment / first login} of a new employee.
- A task can be assigned to:
- A new employee
- A new employee’s manager, or
- Other employees selected from the list.
- You can set any task description. You can use tags, which allow inserting dynamic content, such as the details of a new employee.
- Creating tasks and assigning them to an employee/employees can be done at either of these two points:
- When assigning the employee to a given path.
- When the new employee signs in tomHRM for the very first time.
Of course, this option cannot be enabled for a task assigned to a new employee.
- Task order
On the tasks list (within a given step type: Tasks), you can set task order by dragging and dropping rows with tasks.
Remember
- If you remove an employee from an onboarding path, all created tasks assigned to that path, the employee and other employees within that onboarding path will be removed.
