Understanding the difference between deleting a participant and changing their status to Resigned is important for proper training management and record-keeping.
Deleted Participant
When a participant is deleted from training:
System Impact
- No space occupied – Frees up capacity for other participants
- No record kept – All traces of enrolment are removed from the system
- Clean slate – No historical data of participation
Re-enrolment
- Full re-enrolment allowed – Employee can register for the same training again
- No restrictions – System treats them as a new participant
Use Deletion When
- Making space for new participants
- Correcting enrolment errors
- Allowing immediate re-registration
- No need for historical records
Resigned Participant
When a participant’s status is changed to “Resigned” (or similar withdrawal status):
System Impact
- Remains on participant list – Record of enrolment is maintained
- Administrative tracking – Withdrawal reason and date are recorded
- Hidden from public view – Not visible on employee-facing participant lists
Re-enrolment
- Re-enrolment blocked – Employee cannot register for the same training again
- System recognition – Participant is recognised as previously enrolled
Use Resigned Status When
- Maintaining audit trails
- Tracking withdrawal patterns
- Preventing duplicate enrolments
- Meeting compliance requirements
Capacity Management
Whether a resigned participant’s space is considered occupied or available depends on how the withdrawal status has been configured by your administrator.
